Kendra Eaton CVT

Where were you born? I was born in Boulder, and when I was 6 months old my father, mother and I moved to Libya, Africa for 3 years because of my father’s job.
Where did you live before coming to our area? I lived in Sandpoint, Idaho for 4 years prior to moving back to my home town of Boulder! Sandpoint is 60 miles from the Canadian border and is on the south eastern corner of Lake Pend Orielle (One of the deepest fresh water lakes in North America). They actually have a submarine testing site there for the Navy (although its no longer in use)
Why are you interested in animals? For as long as I can remember I have always had a special bond with animals. I can remember at the age of about 5 or 6, taking in an injured rabbit and my parents helped me nurse it back to health. We released it a couple of weeks later on NCAR mountain. For lack of a better way to describe it, I feel that I have an unspoken communication with our four legged furry friends.
What are your favorite animals to work on? Anything that has fur or feathers. I have a phobia of reptiles and amphibians. (Sorry Kermit)
Do you have any amazing or funny stories to tell about working with animals? I used to work with a dog that could say “I love you” and “Mama”!
Why did you become a veterinarian nurse? This is what I have always wanted to do. I can’t imagine doing anything else!
What are your favorite things about being a veterinary nurse? Being a part of the medical team. Having a sick or injured patient and being able to send them home healthy.
What are your favorite things about working at Boulders Natural Animal? I love that Dr Silver doesn’t only treat symptoms, but the entire animal. I also think its great that he incorporates medicine from many disciplines into a treatment that works.
Tell us about your pets and your family. I currently live in Louisville along with “Max” my Labrador/German Shepherd mix, who was 1 year old last October’ “Kelly” my three year old Irish Setter who is pictured next to me in this photograph by my bio; “Squeak” my 10 year old calico kitty cat, and “Nibblet” my 18 year old black kitty.
Do you have any hobbies? I love to fish, camp, crochette, paint, sculpt and read.
What sports do you like? I like to watch football and I like tennis, but I’m not all that good.
What do you want people to know about you that is really really cool? I am a pretty good shot with a compound bow, and I can pick things up with my toes!
Did you go to tech school? If so where and are you certified? I have an associate’s degree in applied Animal Science from Bel-Rea Institute. I graduated in 1992.
What are your goals in life? To stay in Boulder; to always have animals in my life, to become a permanent fixture at Boulder’s Natural Animal.
